FORT SMITH (July 16, 2021) Due to uncontrollable circumstances, the Fort Smith Health Centre is expecting a shortage of healthcare service practitioners for the remainder of July and into August.

Appointment booking availability will be limited, and the Health Centre will be accommodating the needs of residents by focusing on urgent follow-up appointments being prioritized for scheduled appointments.  There will be no same day appointments during this period, however a doctor will remain on call in the Emergency Department for any urgent and emergent concerns.  

Please recognize that due to the circumstances, there is the potential that non-urgent requests for healthcare services may be postponed.

We recommend that residents seeking non-urgent healthcare services such as prescription refills, lab results, lab requisitions should call the Primary Care Clinic Program Assistants at 872-6205 or 872-6203 to determine how we can best assist you.
