(Yellowknife, October 30, 2024) – With more flu and COVID vaccination clinics having been added to the schedule in Yellowknife, the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) would like to take the opportunity to remind residents in Yellowknife about the various clinics taking place across the city starting this week.
Seniors Clinic
Yellowknife Public Health will host a clinic at the Baker’s Community Centre on Thursday, October 31st between 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and will visit Aven’s Manor on November 1st between 10:00a.m.– 3:00 p.m. These clinics are intended to support our vulnerable population and provide seniors with an opportunity to receive their vaccines.
Family Friendly Clinic
Yellowknife Public Health, in partnership with the Yellowknife Playgroup Association will host a clinic at the Multiplex in the DND Gymnasium on Sunday, November 3rd between 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. This clinic is open to families who have at least one child aged five and under. The Yellowknife Playgroup Association will provide toys, activities, snacks, and refreshments for children and families during this time.
Pop-up Clinic
Yellowknife Public Health will be at the Yellowknife Co-op from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd. Residents who visit Co-op during this time and who are unable to attend another clinic can receive their flu and/or COVID vaccination at this clinic.
Drop-in Community Clinic
A drop-in/ walk in clinic will run starting Tuesday, November 5th until Saturday, November 16th at the Centre Square Mall. This clinic is open to anyone looking to get vaccinated. Hours of operations are as follows:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday – Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

- Anyone unable to attend a clinic that would still like to receive their vaccination can do so by calling Yellowknife Public Health at (867) 767-9120 and booking an appointment.
- To learn about flu and COVID clinic opportunities in other communities or how to book an appointment with your regional health centre, please visit www.nthssa.ca/flu. For more information on the flu shot and FluMist, residents can call 811 to speak with a registered nurse 24/7.
- FluMist, which is a needle-free way to protect against the flu is available at the scheduled flu clinics across the territory and may be an option for children aged 2-5.
