Updated August 31: This visitation restriction has been extended 48 hours until 8 AM Thursday, September 2.

YELLOWKNIFE (August 27, 2021) - Visitation will be suspended at Stanton Territorial Hospital starting at 8 PM on Friday, August 27th until 8 AM Tuesday, August 31st, 2021. Please note that there are some exemptions to visitation for medical escorts, including pediatric patients, labouring mothers, and cases involving palliative care.  

Visitation is being temporarily suspended as an added precaution while contact tracing and testing is conducted related to a COVID-19 case.  This was a contained event and the NTHSSA is confident all impacted individuals will be informed about exposure and testing requirements. Contact tracing and notification is currently underway.  

We are acting with caution to ensure we are protecting patients and staff.  For confidentiality, no other information will be released on the case or contacts at this time; however, any forthcoming changes to operations will be communicated with the public.
