Yellowknife COVID-19 Testing Site Closing on Weekends

Public Notice

(Yellowknife – June 16, 2022) – Effective the weekend of June 18th and 19th, the Yellowknife COVID-19 testing site located at 108 Archibald Street will be closed on weekends.

This shift is being made in response to a reduction in demand for testing services. Demand for testing will continue to be monitored and if demand increases hours will be adjusted appropriately.

Individuals seeking COVID-19 testing are encouraged to use at-home rapid testing kits, which are available for pickup at Yellowknife City Hall, the Field House in Yellowknife, or northern stores throughout the NWT. In person testing is still available Monday to Friday at the COVID-19 testing site on Archibald Street in Yellowknife for symptomatic people who meet this testing guidance. Appointments can be booked through the online booking page.

If your symptoms are not mild contact your healthcare provider for an assessment.

If you are experiencing severe symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, or a worsening condition and feel that you need immediate medical care, call 9-1-1, and call ahead to your health centre or hospital to let them know you are coming to the facility.
