During COVID-19 sick notes, and "return to work" notes will no longer be issued. Each time a sick or return to work note is requested it puts individuals at unnecessary risk of potential exposure and uses limited system resources. Employers need to support public health efforts by allowing staff who are sick to stay home or staff returning from travel to isolate based on advice from the Chief Public Health Officer of the Northwest Territories.
Employees should be staying home if they are sick, and if individuals have been tested for COVID-19 they should not return to work until they receive results from their testing and complete self-isolation requirements as directed by their healthcare provider.
