The Northwest Territories is a vast place, with many different cultures and geographic regions. To organize the delivery of care and services in the territory the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority is coordinated in regional operations. The NTHSSA is responsible for delivering health and social services in the Beaufort Delta, Dehcho, Sahtu, Fort Smith and Yellowknife regions of the NWT. It is also responsible for the operation of the Stanton Territorial Hospital.
The above regions are part of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Servies Authority. There are also two other health authorities in the NT, including the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority and the Tłįchǫ Community Services Agency that maintain websites for health and social services delivery in their regions. To find an explanation of why these authorities retained their distinct status see our About Us page.
