NTHSSA Update Residents in Beaufort Delta on Mental Health Supports in Communities and Implement Reduced Services at Inuvik Regional Hospital

(Yellowknife, September 21st, 2025) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) wishes to advise residents in the Beaufort Delta of reduced services at Inuvik Regional Hospital.

Effective today, Monday, September 22nd, the following temporary service reductions will be implemented:

  • Eye clinic will be closed and all appointments cancelled. All impacted clients will be contacted in the coming days to reschedule.
  • Primary Care Clinics at IRH will operate on a virtual basis (phone appointments) only. This will be in effect for Monday, September 22nd and Tuesday, September 23rd. For any clients who are unable to complete their appointments by phone due to the nature of their appointment, someone will contact you in the coming days to reschedule.

The team at Inuvik Regional Hospital thank patients, families and staff for their patience and kindness this week as services are assessed and adjusted as needed. If there are changes to service levels, updates will be provided.

The NTHSSA also wishes to advise residents of extended mental health services available in Inuvik. This week, in-person counselling services will be extended to 7:30 p.m. Visit in-person at 66 Franklin or phone (867) 678-8092.
