April 7-11, 2025 is Canadian Public Health Week, a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our overall health and wellbeing. As part of this initiative, the NTHSSA will be spotlighting public health workers who are making a difference in NWT communities. For today’s spotlight, we are proud to recognize Lovely Casbadillo, who works in the Sahtu Region!
In her position of Regional CHN – Public Health, Lovely supports community health and public health services throughout the Sahtu, which encompasses Norman Wells, Tulita, Deline, Fort Good Hope, and Colville Lake. She is committed to supporting communities during outbreaks, promoting immunization, and keeping residents and communities informed about public health, including the latest updates and recommendations from the Territorial Public Health Office.
Originally from the Philippines, Lovely has been in the NWT for over four years now and is happy to call it her new home. She recalls quickly falling in love with the beauty of the territory, including the aurora borealis, the unique landscape, the simplicity of life, and most importantly, the people. Outside of work, Lovely enjoys collecting plants, needlework, cross-stitching, beading, and riverside walks with her dog.
Thank you for everything you do, Lovely!
