April 7-11, 2025 is Canadian Public Health Week, a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our overall health and wellbeing. As part of this initiative, the NTHSSA will be spotlighting public health workers who are making a difference in NWT communities. For today’s spotlight, we feature both Shavaughn Good (left) and Brittany Hagerman (right) who serve residents of the Tłıchǫ region.
In their respective roles of Nurse in Charge – Public Health and Regional Public Health Nurse, Shavaughn and Brittany’s collective goal is to improve health outcomes for Tłıchǫ communities through education so that residents feel empowered to make informed decisions about their own health. Thank you, Shavaughn and Brittany! Your hard work is helping us deliver on our mission to provide quality health and social services that are culturally safe, collaborative, and centered around continuous improvement.
