(Yellowknife, March 1, 2025) - The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) wishes to make residents in Yellowknife aware of an incident that took place this afternoon, at Stanton Territorial Hospital (STH). At approximately 3:00 p.m., a person entered the facility in a hostile state, and RCMP were called. The individual has since been apprehended. 

The NTHSSA wants to reassure residents that there is not currently a threat to public safety at STH. All procedures necessary for incidents of this kind were followed and RCMP will continue to investigate, as necessary. 

The NTHSSA would also like to express its gratitude to the staff and security at STH for their swift and effective response in mitigating the situation, as well as to the RCMP for their prompt and timely action.
