  • Raise awareness of the importance of getting tested.
  • Reduce the stigma of getting tested.

In recognition of World AIDS Day, the GNWT is offering residents a chance to get an on-the-spot STI information and tests in a convenient location – without an advance appointment. Residents are invited to join us from 9am until 6pm for door prizes, health information and confidential STI testing services.

Health care providers and health promoters will be on site all day to promote sexual health – what it is, why it matters, and why you shouldn’t be afraid of testing for sexually transmitted infections and seeking treatment. With STI rates rising across the country, including here in the NWT, everyone can be part of protecting themselves and each other by getting a quick and simple test.
