(Yellowknife, Northwest Territories) May 7, 2025 – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is announcing a new air ambulance contract with ACCESS Air Ambulance - a joint venture between Air Tindi Ltd., Advanced Medical Solutions Inc., Aklak Air Ltd., Det’on Cho Management LP, and Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation. ACCESS Air Ambulance will be responsible for the care and transport of patients by air ambulance over the next 10 years, ensuring timely, high-quality emergency medical transport for patients from across the Northwest Territories (NWT).

This contract is the result of a comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFP) process. Through the contract, ACCESS Air Ambulance has committed to achieving substantial levels of NWT content as per the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Business Incentive Policy, as well as committing to significant community engagement activities throughout the territory, such as community outreach, promotion of aviation and paramedicine professions, and offering training and mentoring opportunities.

Air ambulance transportation is integral to the NWT's health care system, providing over 1,600 patient transports annually.
