PUBLIC NOTICE: Pfizer vaccine offered to Yellowknife residents aged 12-17 years old

Starting Thursday May 6th NTHSSA will be opening appointments offering the Pfizer vaccine to NWT residents aged 12-17 year old, located in Yellowknife.

The Pfizer vaccine will be offered to residents ages 12-17 years old only, for a limited amount of appointments on Thursday, with additional Pfizer vaccine appointments available on Saturday and the following Monday. Pending an assessment of the demand for the Pfizer vaccine for 12-17 year olds, more appointment options for Pfizer vaccines will be added going forward.

To book this service, a new appointment type is available in the online booking system that allows residents to select the Pfizer vaccine for a person aged 12-17 years. Residents aged 18 and are asked to select the existing booking options for the Moderna vaccine.


This initial appointment offering will be for individuals not currently undergoing isolation orders. On Tuesday May 11, the NTHSSA will announce booking availability for individuals ages 12-17 who are currently in isolation. Those individuals currently isolating who would like to be immunized will need to reach out to cpho@gov.nt.ca to request authorization, and will receive email confirmations that include instructions on how to safely attend the vaccine clinic.

All residents attending the clinic to receive their vaccines are asked to wear their masks, and bring their NWT health care card OR government-issued ID showing a birthdate.
