(Yellowknife, November 20, 2024) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) would like to advise residents that Yellowknife Public Health is on reduced services until at least January 6, 2025.

This temporary reduction in services is a result of low staffing and is being done to ensure essential programs offered by Yellowknife Public Health are maintained.  

During this time the following measures will be implemented:

• Some changes will be made to well child visits. If you are impacted by these changes, you will be contacted.
• Appointments for travel vaccinations will not be available during this time. 
• If you require an appointment for a vaccination outside of travel vaccinations, you can call public health at 867-767-9120. Please note that wait times will increase. 

This reduction of services will impact some currently booked appointments. If you already have an appointment booked, you may be called to cancel. A waitlist of all cancelled appointments will be created and will be a priority to rebook once available.
