Blog Post

Krista Wesley is the lead mammography technologist at Stanton Territorial Hospital.

Krista grew up in Yellowknife, where she graduated from Sir John Franklin High School. She attended SAIT for Medical Radiologic Technology in 2006 and graduated in 2008. In 2010, she moved back to Yellowknife after working as an x-ray technologist in Lethbridge, Alberta for a few years.

She began working in the mammography department in 2011 and has really enjoyed her time with the program. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family, chauffeuring her kids to and from activities and curling.

In 2024, it is estimated that on average, 84 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

If you or a family member has already had cancer, or you are experiencing any unusual signs or symptoms, discuss your options for cancer screening with your health care provider. Screening tests help detect cancer early and improves the likelihood of successful treatment.
