(Fort Smith, August 22, 2026) - The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is advising the public that following an update from the RCMP that the shelter-in-place order for the community has been lifted, NTHSSA is deactivating its emergency protocols at the Fort Smith Health Centre. Regular health services will resume.

The NTHSSA extends its thoughts to the Fort Smith community during this time and thanks all staff for their prompt response, professionalism, and dedication.
