Yellowknife, NWT (October 6, 2026) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is pleased to inform residents that Yellowknife Public Health will offer dedicated walk-in hours every Wednesday at the Sexual Health Clinic at Yellowknife Primary Care Centre.

The walk-in clinic is intended to improve access to confidential sexual health services, particularly for people who may experience barriers to accessing care through scheduled appointments.

When:  Effective immediately, walk-in services will be available every Wednesday

Time:    9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.

Where: Sexual Health Clinic, Yellowknife Primary Care Centre

Clients can check in at the Yellowknife Primary Care Centre reception desk and will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis during walk-in hours.

Services may include STI testing and treatment, sexual health assessment and counselling, prevention education, vaccinations, and other sexual health supports based on individual needs.

This service is being introduced as a trial to improve access to timely, flexible, and confidential sexual health care. Demand and feedback will be monitored and the service adjusted as needed.

Scheduled appointments will remain available for clients who prefer to book a specific time.
