What to Expect

Getting tested can be quick and easy.  Depending on what you are being tested for, the health care provider may ask you to pee in a cup, take a blood sample, or take a swab.  They also might complete a physical exam.

The practitioner will discuss STI prevention methods with you, and may also ask you for a list of your sexual partners.  Depending on your assessment, you may also be treated for an STI prior to getting you test results back.

Getting your results

After your appointment, it will take 7 business days to get your test results.
No news means good news! You will not receive notification if your test results are negative (meaning you don’t have an STI).

If you haven’t received a call but would like to know your result, please either Public Health or the Sexual Health Program Cell Phone.
