Public Notice: Fort Smith Health Centre Reduced Services for booked appointments for June and July

Public Notice

(Fort Smith - June 26, 2024) - Due to reduced physician availability the Fort Smith Health Centre is expecting limited appointment availability from June 28 to July 24, 2024. A physician will be on-call in person or virtually 24/7 for the Emergency Department.

For non-urgent issues, such as a sore throat or earache, please continue to call Primary Care at 867-872-6205 or 867-872-6203. Appointments with Community Health Nurses are available for these types of concerns.

Health care providers will remain available to provide regular preventative care, chronic disease, and well child/family visits or to address urgent primary care concerns. Urgent and emergency care remains available.

If residents need medical advice they can call 811 at any time to speak with a Registered Nurse.

Fort Smith residents are also encouraged to check with their pharmacy to ensure they have available refills of existing prescriptions, and if not to notify Primary Care who will assist in processing new refills. Wait times may be longer than normal so please plan in advance.
