Public Notice
YELLOWKNIFE (August 12, 2025) - The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) has introduced a new Callback Request Form to make it easier for you to book lab appointments.
Instead of needing to make an appointment in-person or calling and waiting on hold, you can now simply request a callback. This new option helps reduce wait times and ensures everyone has a fair chance to access services, even during high-demand periods.
In Yellowknife, Laboratory Services are available at Stanton Territorial Hospital (STH) by appointment only and at the Yellowknife Primary Care Clinic (YPCC) by walk-in same-day service only.
For those who prefer to call in or book an appointment in-person, the following additional booking options still exist:
To book an appointment for Laboratory Services at Stanton Territorial Hospital:
- By phone: (867) 767-9300 ext. 46673 between 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM Monday – Friday, excluding holidays
- In-person: 548 Byrne Road (You can also walk in and make an appointment for STH at the YPCC location)
Clients are kindly reminded to always present to the Stanton front desk/registration 10 minutes before their appointment time. Once registered, proceed to Laboratory Services with your requisition.
For same-day Laboratory Services at the Yellowknife Primary Care Clinic:
- In-person: 4915 48 Street
- Same-day time slots at this location are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Front doors open at 8:00 AM and same-day time slots begin being assigned at 8:10 AM. Slots are usually filled by 9:00 AM.
- To access this option, please go to the YPCC Laboratory registration desk. If spots are available, you will receive a timeslot and can return at that time, helping reduce wait room crowding and giving you flexibility in your day.
- If all same-day slots are filled, you may choose to be added to a waitlist and stay in the waiting room, though there is no guarantee you will be seen that day. You may also book an appointment at a future date and time for service at STH if you prefer.
