Oral Health Services

Keeping your mouth clean and free of disease is important for your oral health and your overall health. People of all ages should be sure to maintain good oral health, by brushing and flossing regularly, eating healthy, and visiting the dentist and dental hygienist regularly.  

In the Northwest Territories, private dental clinics offer Hygienist and Dental services in Hay River, Inuvik, Fort Smith, and Yellowknife.  Find a full list of these dental clinics and their contact information here

In smaller communities that do not have dental clinics or dental hygienists, the NTHSSA and GNWT work with dental clinics, or hire dental hygienist to provide the following programs and services:

Fees:

All First Nation and Inuit residents are covered by the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program. Click here to learn more.

All other residents will need to pay for the service through their private insurance plans or extended benefits.
