Yellowknife Health and Social Services operates two clinics in Yellowknife and one health centre in both Fort Resolution and Lutsel K’e. At these clinics and health centres Yellowknife Health and Social Services offers a broad range of services which may include:

Yellowknife Primary Health Care Clinic is experiencing intermittent disruption with the telephone system. Please call 867 767 9125 if you are unable to connect to the main line. Appointments can be made at both clinics by calling either of the above numbers. A broad range of practitioners including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, counsellors, dietitians and more, are available to meet many of your health care needs.
Services may include:

Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory
Diagnostic Imaging includes the following:
- General/routine X-rays
- Ultrasound
- Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) which checks how strong your bones are
What do we do at the Laboratory?
The Lab Services include a wide range of tests performed on blood, body fluids and tissues in order to help the healthcare provider correctly detect, diagnose and prevent diseases.
Do I need to do anything before coming to Diagnostic Imaging or the Laboratory?
You must register at the reception desk when you arrive, you must bring:
- The paperwork or requisition the doctor or nurse gave you
- Your healthcare card
- A piece of photo identification
If you have an appointment, please arrive 15 to 20 minutes before your appointment to give yourself enough time to register.

Same Day Services
A limited number of same day appointments are available on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday at the Yellowknife Primary Care Centre and on Wednesday and Thursday at Frame Lake Community Health Clinic.
To book a same-day appointment, please call the clinic when the phone lines open. Appointments are filled as calls come in; calling as early as possible increases your chance of getting an appointment.
Outreach Clinic
Centre for Northern Families Outreach Clinic
The Centre for Northern Families offers a walk-in clinic in partnership with NTHSSA Yellowknife Region. A nurse practitioner and a doctor are available to see patients. No appointment is necessary; patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Men, women and children are welcome. Please bring your Health Care Card if you have one.
