NTHSSA Supports Public Administrator’s Commitment to Track 52 Improvements in 52 Weeks

Public Notice

YELLOWKNIFE (August 15, 2025) - As part of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority’s (NTHSSA) Public Administrator’s commitment to continuous improvement, the NTHSSA has started a “52 Improvements in 52 Weeks” initiative, which is an internal campaign focused on small but meaningful changes across the organization.

Through this campaign, NTHSSA staff are encouraged to share and test ideas that improve workflows, programs, and services. Some changes may be small, others more significant, but over time, even the smallest improvements can add up to meaningful impact.

Many of these staff-led efforts happen behind-the-scenes and may not always be headline-worthy or visible to the public, either due to the nature of their impact or because they are not always appropriate to share widely. Still, they reflect a strong, ongoing commitment to enhancing care and strengthening health and social services for residents across the territory.

The NTHSSA believes it is important to keep the public informed about the ongoing efforts for improvements happening across the organization, which is why we are spotlighting one key staff-led initiative each week and sharing a summary with the Public Administrator. While many improvements are happening simultaneously, this one-pager offers one example of progress each week.

This is just one of the many ways the NTHSSA is showcasing the good work taking place across the organization and it directly supports the Public Administrator’s commitment to accountability. We are proud to contribute to that effort, and want to continue to stay ahead of the game by proactively sharing people-centred, good news stories and different ways across the organization that staff are taking initiative and making changes that align with their needs, while supporting the NTHSSA vision for a better future, best care, and best health.

While these updates are intended for internal use and primarily focus on staff-led improvements, the NTHSSA remains committed to highlighting and sharing any changes that may be of particular interest to the public. The format of these updates may also evolve over time.
