Public Notice – Accessing Services during Move into Łıwegǫ̀atì Building

Public Notice

(Yellowknife – May 23, 2024) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) would like to share the following “need to know” information as we prepare to move services into the Łıwegǫ̀atì Building.

  • Services will begin moving out of Frame Lake Clinic, Yellowknife Primary Care Clinic, and the Stanton Medical Centre on May 24th, 2024. The move will take a week to complete and first patient day at Łıwegǫ̀atì Building will be on May 30th, 2024. No appointments have been booked during this time, so no appointments are being impacted.
  • During the move period from May 24th to May 29th, staff will be busy setting up their new workplaces, ensuring all equipment is in place and operating properly, and practicing workflows in the new space to be ready to serve clients and patients the best they can when operating begins on the May 30th.
  • If you require an appointment during this time, same-day services will remain available at the Yellowknife Primary Care Centre. Capacity has been increased at this clinic to serve residents during this time. Please call (867) 767-9294 starting at 8:05 a.m. to schedule an appointment. Call-back request forms for appointments also remain active. To request a call-back, visit: www.nthssa.ca/en/callback-request-form-demande-de-rappel-téléphonique.
  • What this means for you is that if you have a scheduled appointment after May 30th, it is likely located at the Łıwegǫ̀atì Building. After May 30th, if you book a same-day appointment, you will be told where your appointment will be. It could be at Łıwegǫ̀atì Building or the Yellowknife Primary Care Centre downtown.  If you are unsure where to go, call (867) 767-9294 to confirm.
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation Services will not be answered during the move, but after May 30th you can call all the numbers listed above to make an appointment.
  • In addition to the old numbers, a new central phone number for Łıwegǫ̀atì Building will be operational in the weeks to come. Information on phones will be communicated in advance of changes.
  • Contact information for pharmacies trying to reach primary care clinics, including fax numbers remains the same.

The NTHSSA would like to emphasize that details regarding the move can be found by visiting www.nthssa.ca or on the NTHSSA Facebook page.

We recognize that change can be challenging but appreciate your understanding and patience as we make the transition to the Łıwegǫ̀atì Building and realize our vision for a campus of care to better serve the residents who need access to these services most.
