(Yellowknife – December 9, 2020) – Starting Monday December 7th, 2020, new rapid testing devices were put into service in a number of NWT communities that will deliver presumptive COVID-19 test results to patients in as little as 15 minutes.

OVERVIEW: On July 23, 2020 surgical services at Stanton Territorial Hospital were impacted by issues related to the processing/sterilization of surgical supplies and devices. The NTHSSA has been working to rectify the issue since this time.
The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Leadership Council is holding a board meeting that is open to the public. For the public, these meeting can only be observed.
November 22nd to 28th is National Addictions Awareness Weeks (NAAW), and this year, the theme is the “Change Begins with me.”
Addictions and substance abuse impact a broad number of people in various walks of life.
ISSUE: Since late July, 2020 Stanton Territorial Hospital has faced issues with sterilization services leading to a reduction in surgical service capacity at the hospital

Surgical Services:
Yellowknife (November 16, 2020) Thanks to the successful first flu vaccination clinic, over 4,700 vaccinations have been delivered to Yellowknife residents.
Drive-thru testing will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.
