NTHSSA adds Medical Travel Nurse Case Managers in Yellowknife

YELLOWKNIFE (APRIL 20, 2026) – As part of continuing efforts to improve patient experience and effectiveness of the Medical Travel Program, the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is pleased to announce that Medical Travel Nurse Case Managers will soon be implemented in Yellowknife Primary Care, on a 2-year pilot. This pilot is being made possible by recent funding from the Department of Health and Social Services, which allows it to move into the recruitment stage.

This document was developed in partnership with stakeholders including the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority (HRHSSA) and the Tłı̨chǫ Community Services Agency (TCSA).

NTHSSA Shares Updated Public Administrator Work

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories (November 5, 2025) - The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is sharing updates that have been made to the Public Administrator (PA) Work Plan to reflect progress made during the first three-quarters of the calendar year. 

As indicated in the plan, the PA has spent much of his time during this first year getting to know the organization, understanding where the pressures are coming from and making his way across regions to meet with local leaders and residents.

YELLOWKNIFE (June 20, 2025) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) and Victoria-based INVINCIBLE group hosted a powerful presentation in Yellowknife today that highlighted the firsthand experiences of Indigenous youth in care.

The event was co-organized by Child, Family and Community Wellness and members of INVINCIBLE: Our Voices From Care, a digital storytelling project by Indigenous youth in care.
