Public Notice – Public Invited to Open House Event for Łıwegǫ̀atì Building

Members of the public are invited to an open house of the Łıwegǫ̀atì Building. This open house is taking place prior to the official opening date and is intended to give residents an opportunity to view the space before clinics begin their move-in process.

A virtual tour of the building is under development and will be shared to the NTHSSA website and through social media once complete.

Public Notice: Changes to Blood-Related Cancer Services for Northwest Territories Residents

YELLOWKNIFE (April 25, 2024) The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority is announcing that hematology-oncology services previously provided in the NWT will be relocated to Alberta. This change only impacts patients who have very specific types of cancer related to blood, and does not involve patients with types of cancers involving other body systems, such as breast, lung, bowel, etc. This decision was made by Alberta Cancer Care due to limited resources in the NWT to maintain the level of care coordination required for these specific cancer services.

Public Notice: NWT Residents are Advised that NTHSSA site visits will take place between April 21 – 26 as part of Accreditation Canada Process

(Yellowknife – April 11, 2024) - On-site accreditation surveys, led by Accreditation Canada, will occur across the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) from April 21st to April 26th, 2024. The surveys assess health and social services in the NWT, including hospitals, primary care clinics, public health clinics, long-term care homes, home care, medical labs, social services and child and family services offices, and community mental health offices.

Public Notice - Operations Adjusted to add Measles Vaccination Capacity in Yellowknife

(Yellowknife, March 15, 2024) The NTHSSA is advising residents that Yellowknife Public Health is adjusting operations to meet increased demand for measles vaccination appointments, prompted by a recent Measles Alert issued by the NWT’s Chief Public Health Officer.

To accommodate this demand, routine booked appointments at Yellowknife Public Health may be rescheduled; any impacted person will be contacted with details.
