(Yellowknife, November 8, 2024) - The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) would like to share the results of the 2023 Cancer Care Patient Satisfaction Survey. The survey is distributed to patients across the Northwest Territories with the goal of receiving feedback on the NTHSSA programs and services accessed by patients. Some of those programs include the cancer navigation program, medical oncology clinics, chemotherapy unit, and medical travel.

(Inuvik, October 30, 2024) – Following the public notice issued last week, the NTHSSA is happy to inform expecting parents in Inuvik that efforts to enhance staffing levels at the Inuvik Regional Hospital (IRH) to support obstetrics has been temporarily successful and the suspension of service dates have been modified. The new dates are as follows:

(Yellowknife – August 9, 2024) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) wishes to advise Yellowknife residents that the flood damage remediation work at the Yellowknife Primary Care Centre (YPCC) is now complete.

(Yellowknife, July 8^th, 2024) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is excited to share that this week, extended care residents will be moving into the Łıwegǫ̀atì building.

(Yellowknife, July 5^th, 2024) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) wishes to advise Fort Good Hope residents of updates to health and social services in the community. 

Over the weekend of July 5^th, residents who require non-urgent health advice are encouraged to call 811 to speak with a Registered Nurse. This service is available 24/7 and is confidential. The nurse on call will also be available in the community over the weekend and can be contacted at 867-496-0004,

(Fort Smith - June 26, 2024) - Due to reduced physician availability the Fort Smith Health Centre is expecting limited appointment availability from June 28 to July 24, 2024. A physician will be on-call in person or virtually 24/7 for the Emergency Department.

For non-urgent issues, such as a sore throat or earache, please continue to call Primary Care at 867-872-6205 or 867-872-6203. Appointments with Community Health Nurses are available for these types of concerns.

(Norman Wells, June 16, 2024) – Effective immediately the Cassien Edgi Health and Social Services Centre will close as the community evacuation continues. This closure will be in place until further notice.

A mobile paramedic service is stationed in the community to address basic health needs in the community and for first responders until services can be re-established at the health centre. Emergency services personnel in community will be able to reach the paramedic by radio in the event of any communication outages.

(Yellowknife – May 30, 2024) – The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is pleased to share that earlier today, the first patients were welcomed to the Łıwegǫ̀atì building for scheduled appointments.
